Babbo was the dream of one man who believed restaurants could be more than places to eat — they are gathering places, neighborhood anchors, family. In 2002, Ken Pollack opened the first Babbo Italian Eatery in Glendale with that vision in mind. Over the next two decades, he grew it into seven Valley locations while never losing sight of what mattered most: the people on both sides of the table.

Babbo means "Daddy" in Italian — and Ken was that figure to his staff, his family, and his community. His generosity shaped not only how we serve our guests, but how we show up for the world around us.

Ken lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in late 2022. His family, his team, and the Babbo community continue his legacy through the annual Day of Giving, Baseball for Babbo, event — raising funds for pancreatic cancer research at HonorHealth Research Institute through the Seena Magowitz Foundation.
