Accessibility Statement
Our Commitment
Babbo Italian Eatery (babboitalian.com) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards. We believe every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort, and independence.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. Babbo Italian Eatery's website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Our Approach
Accessibility is built into the foundation of this website rather than added on top with a third-party widget. Our development practices include:
- Semantic HTML — proper heading structure, landmark regions, and meaningful element choices so assistive technologies can navigate the site reliably.
- Keyboard navigation — every interactive feature can be reached and operated using a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a "Skip to main content" link.
- Descriptive alt text on photographs of menu items, locations, and other meaningful imagery.
- Color contrast meeting WCAG AA ratios across body text, headings, and interactive elements.
- Reduced-motion support — animations respect the operating system's "reduce motion" preference.
- ARIA labels on icons, controls, and dynamic regions so they are announced clearly by screen readers.
- Resizable text — content reflows and remains usable when zoomed up to 200%.
Browser and Device Tools
Because the site is built to standards rather than wrapped in an overlay, your own browser and device accessibility settings work the way they should — including screen readers (VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA, JAWS), browser zoom, system-level dark mode, and "reduce motion" preferences.
Ongoing Effort
Babbo Italian Eatery continues its efforts to constantly improve the accessibility of our site and services. Despite our efforts to make all pages and content fully accessible, some content may not yet have been fully adapted to the strictest accessibility standards. This may be the result of a feature or piece of content for which the most appropriate technological solution has not yet been identified, or because the feature is provided by a third-party service (for example, our online ordering and reservations partners).
